BAPTISM

We are so happy to hear your child is interested in baptism! We would love to walk alongside you and your child as you have conversations about what this decision means as it relates to their walk with Jesus!

WHAT IS BAPTISM?

Baptism is one of the most powerful experiences we have as a community, as we take time to celebrate the transformation of people going from death to life through Jesus.  Baptism is a way that we identify with Jesus' death and resurrection, and the decision to bury our “old life” in order to receive “new life” in Him (Col 2:12-14, 2 Cor 5:17, Rom 6:4)

In following the example of Jesus as well as the early church as described in Acts, baptism is done by immersion in water.  The word “baptize” comes from the Greek word, “baptise” which means, “to immerse or dip under water.”

If you have made the decision to place your faith and trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord of your life,
baptism is the next step--as  is a symbolic act that aligns us with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, as we die to ourselves and are given a resurrected life in Him.

We encourage you to watch the video below with your child to learn more about baptism!
